Senior Firmware Engineer

Full-Time Phoenix, AZ On-Site

We're looking for a senior firmware engineer to design and implement embedded systems for AO8's Levitation hardware products. You'll work directly on RISC-V firmware that powers White Horse and R-Reaper — writing the code that runs at the edge of what's physically possible.

What You'll Do

Design and implement real-time firmware for ESP32-S3 and RISC-V processors.
Develop and optimize Levitation encoding algorithms for embedded deployment.
Build communication protocols between onboard processors and host systems.
Work with hardware engineers on PCB bring-up, testing, and production validation.
Profile and optimize performance across power, latency, and throughput constraints.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of embedded firmware development in C/C++.
Experience RISC-V, or ARM Cortex-M architectures.
Strong understanding of PCIe, SPI, I2C, and UART communication protocols.
Experience with RTOS, bare-metal programming, and low-level debugging.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership.

Nice to Have

Experience with signal processing or frequency-domain computation.
Familiarity with NVMe controllers or storage firmware.
Background in analog or mixed-signal systems.
